Broken System is a wall of sound with emotional driving riffs

Oli and Farez wrote „Reborn“ as the first song Broken System collaborated on, back in late 2024. It was a major milestone for us, as we reused some material that was already 20 years old. In our opinion, this also shows how powerfully this genre of metal contributes to its survival. „Reborn“ is a mix of electro effects, electronic beats, and a raw understanding of hip hop, all embedded in a crossover hardcore sound. The chorus alone is a rare gem: „Reborn in Love – Reborn in Grace.“ While you might be tempted to think of Elvis here—may God provide him with good sound—he’s not the one we’re referring to. Just when we thought we’d made it through the year pretty powerfully, guitarist Lio came along and presented us with a new song. A little bit of structure, some lyrics written, and voilà: „Wake the Fuck Up“ was born. A real banger. You can look forward to what’s coming your way. Broken System is hitting the road touring after filming „Daylight.“ Initial focus: Germany and Switzerland. Ah, that’s wonderful.

Farez was a founding member of the band Cycore in 1996, immediately after the breakup of his previous band, Punishment, with whom he performed numerous live concerts in southern Germany and parts of Switzerland. Together with Bobby (Flo) on drums, he founded the band on lead guitar and, at the time, main vocals in southern Germany and played three live shows in the Donaueschingen area, Villingen, and at an open-air concert in Aasen. Ten songs emerged from this then progressive new school hardcore band – including „She“ and „Path of Resistance,“ both „written“ by Farez and Dominik. Farez brought the song, also written on A, „Path of Resistance,“ back to the stage. More on this song soon, here on our website and on our social media channels.

A new song is in the pipeline, a song written by Farez and his 1990s band Cycore (then the band’s guitarist and backing vocalist). The song is based on an unfortunately true story about an experience of the band’s singer, Dominik. Since the topic is more relevant than ever and much, unfortunately, too much, still remains unsolved regarding child trafficking, we’ve revisited and recorded the song „She.“ With the same guitars tuned to A, with the same three acts: she goes to school, she doesn’t come home from school, the police called and the father’s reaction as the final act. An honor, since the song is already over 30 years old. Stay tuned…

In June 2025, we released a lyrics video for our song „Undone“, which was written by Farez and firstly recorded and performed 15 years ago together with I TRIP member DJ LoveMaze, who played the drums also perfectly on the original version. We thank all participants for their support. We would especially like to extend our thanks to the video platform pexels.com for providing free footage. The song now describes more clearly than ever the theme of a young mother who loses her child at an early age, blames herself endlessly, and seems almost unable to escape her dilemma of never-ending depression. The video’s focus on „friends“ who share her fate and the solidarity that exists even in difficult times underscores the message: Undone, unborn.

The band is now fully formed. Oli and Farez are celebrating the arrival of drummer „Andre,“ who already brings several years of band and studio experience and now sets the pace, as well as Farez’s son „Lio,“ whose musical skills not only make the band a family and generational project at a young age, but also enrich it immensely. So it’s not surprising that father Farez and son Lio share the same musical taste. We’re excited about our new version of the „Fantastischen Vier“ and look forward to a musically and honest future.

The guitars are heavy and tuned low, yet despite their raw intensity, the melodies remain ever-present. The band blends raw energy with melancholic tones, creating a sonic world that both crushes and captivates. Broken System is more than just music – it is a raw, honest expression of emotion, carried by a band that knows how to balance heaviness, depth, and atmosphere.
